The 16 TGH Urgent Care sites powered by Fast Track receive accreditation for healthcare excellence and receive the Urgent Care Association award Commendation for Antibiotic Stewardship.

TAMPA, Florida., November 8, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — Tampa General Hospitalnetwork of urgent care centers known as TGH Urgent Care powered by Fast Track again received the highest level of honor for urgent care centers – accreditation by the Urgent Care Association (UCA). Accreditation means that all TGH Urgent Care sites powered by Fast Track have met the standards and criteria set by UCA for quality of patient care, safety and scope of services.

Tampa General Hospital’s network of urgent care centers known as TGH Urgent Care powered by Fast Track has again received the highest level of honor for urgent care centers – accreditation by the ‘Urgent Care Association (UCA). Accreditation means that all TGH Urgent Care sites powered by Fast Track have met the standards and criteria set by UCA for quality of patient care, safety and scope of services.

In addition to being reaccredited, TGH Urgent Care powered by Fast Track has also received the Antibiotic Stewardship Commendation (ASC) from UCA. This program requires urgent care centers to provide evidence of compliance with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Antibiotic Stewardship Principles.

Responsible antibiotic stewardship is the effort to measure and improve how antibiotics are prescribed by clinicians and used by patients. The CDC Principles provide a framework for urgent care centers to demonstrate their commitment to improving antibiotic use and advancing patient safety and outcomes.

  • Walk-in and extended-hour medical care from certified providers for a wide range of conditions, including unexpected cuts, burns, sprains or fractures

  • X-rays and electrocardiograms on site

  • Laboratory services, including blood tests, urine tests and drug tests

  • Sports and school physics

  • Solutions for employers such as pre-employment checks, medical examinations and employment authorizations, and workers’ compensation assessments

  • Some prescriptions can be filled on site
