Montana State University Billings City College’s Radiologic Technology Program continues to present itself as a high-quality professional learning environment for radiography and medical services.

The program received its initial accreditation from the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) for a period of three years. The Radiologic Technology program is now the only radiology program in Montana with JRCERT accreditation.

JRCERT is the only agency recognized by the United States Department of Education and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation for traditional and distance education in radiography, radiation therapy, magnetic resonance and medical dosimetry .

Accreditation greatly increases the value of a program as it guarantees the public quality education and professionalism in a field. The Radiologic Technology program has been assessed by the Standards for an Accredited Educational Program in Radiography (established in 2014) and has achieved desired compliance.

City College’s Radiologic Technology program is a two-year associate’s degree. “Accreditation is the primary means of ensuring and improving the quality of higher education institutions and programs in the United States,” said Victor White, director of radiology and ultrasound technology programs at City College. “Students receive a practical and quality education from experienced teachers before entering the workforce. “
