ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 19, 2022 (Newswire.com) –
As new security screening equipment is developed and deployed, the need for aviation screeners to have relevant training to use the latest technology for maximum security efficiency and effectiveness is a ubiquitous situation. HumanLink, LLC, a leader in data and human factors training, will bring its experience in the field by addressing the Transportation Security Administration’s (TSA) need for a universal training platform solution. HumanLink will conduct a pilot study for the TSA’s Innovation Task Force (ITF) using an innovative X-ray screening tool known as XRT-4. The objective of this collaborative pilot study is to test the effectiveness of XRT-4 in airport environments in the United States.
The XRT-4 training system was developed after years of research by the Swiss research group CASRA, which identifies the training, feedback and skills screeners need to increase threat detection and reduce false alarm rates. This proven technology uses metrics and human factors to improve training and testing solutions for security guards and x-ray screeners in all screening environments. XRT-4 is a web-based, flexible, state-of-the-art training platform that is easily accessible to TSA’s geographically dispersed workforce and has been used in over 9,000 locations worldwide.
“The goal of this effort is to provide the TSA with insights to make data-driven decisions about the optimal training platform for their large and diverse workforce,” said Bonnie Kudrick, President and Founder of HumanLink. “We can improve airport security screening processes, threat detection, increase security momentum and provide transportation security solutions that will positively impact the passenger experience. Equally important, we can support the people who act as our security force and improve their experience and efficiency.”
HumanLink is the exclusive distributor of the XRT-4 training platform, which will be evaluated by the TSA at one or more US airports. HumanLink Partner, Symposium, integrate and establish its secure environments, ensuring compliance with TSA standards and meeting security requirements at the impact level. CASRA’s XRT-4 software includes applications for airports, customs, freight, prisons and other environments requiring high levels of security and control.
