UN Workshop on Good Health and Wellbeing
CAIRO – September 11, 2022: Minister of Health and Population, Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, on Saturday paid an inspection visit to the National Institute of Cardiology (INSA) to monitor the workflow and quality of services provided.
The Minister’s visit was part of a field visit covering a number of health facilities in Cairo and Giza.
During the visit, the minister checked a sketch for an INSA development project, ministry spokesman Hossam Abdel Ghaffar said, noting that the institute has up to 408 hospital beds.
The minister also visited the intensive care, childcare, nuclear scanner section, as well as the radiology section, which has recently been equipped with state-of-the-art equipment for the diagnosis of heart diseases, the spokesperson added.
Stressing the importance of adequate medical training, Abdel Ghaffar asked relevant INSA officials to sign cooperation protocols with the Italian hospital group San Donato to organize training exchange programs.
Founded in 1957, the San Donato Hospital Group is one of the first hospital groups in Europe and the first in Italy. It includes 18 hospitals, including three research hospitals (San Donato Clinic, San Raffaele Hospital and Galeazzi Orthopedic Institute), with a total number of beds of 5,169.
